Chicken Pox
Chicken Pox is spread by person-to-person contact.  It is contagious
5 days before and 6 days after the rash appeared.  All students will be excluded from school one week after the rash appears or until all sores have dried.

Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)
Conjunctivitis is spread from the discharge of an infected eye.  Children should not attend school during this stage.  An appropriate eye medication should be obtained from a physician.  Children may return to school 24 hours after treatment is started.

Strep Throat
Strep Throat is transmitted by direct contact with a person having the strep germ.  All students with a strep infection will be excluded from school and will need to obtain antibiotics from their physician.  Students may return to school after having been on the prescribed antibiotics for at least 24 hours.

Measles
Measles are spread by contact with an infected person.  A student will be excluded from school for four (4) days after the rash appeared.
Mumps
Mumps is spread through direct contact from an infected person.  Any student with mumps will be excluded from school until all gland swelling has completely disappeared, or nine (9) days from the day the swelling appeared.
German Measles (Rubella)
German Measles are spread by direct contact with an infected person.  Any student with German Measles will be excluded from school until seven (7) days after the rash appeared.

Ringworm
Ringworm is spread by direct or indirect contact with lesions from an infected person or animal.  A physician will determine when a student may return to school.

Head or Body Lice (Pediculosis)
Any student who shows evidence of Pediculosis (head or body lice) shall be excluded from school until treatment is completed.  Re-check in 7-10 days and further exclusion if live lice noted.

Pertussis
Exclude from school for 3 weeks following development of whooping cough, if untreated.  Exclude for 5 days after onset of treatment.  Exclusion of non-immune children from school and public gatherings for 14 days after last exposed to a household or similar case.
