Text Box: PLAYGROUND RULES					
Safety is of the utmost importance.  All those employed by the Freedom Elementary School are charged with the right and responsibility to enforce all rules regardless of what grade or part of the building or grounds an infraction of the rules take place.

Students are not allowed in the building at any recess, or before and after school without permission.

Students are expected to stay within the boundaries of the Freedom Elementary School unless otherwise directed.  No walking into the woods.  
Students may use the basketball court with permission only.
Students may use the shed area with permission only. 
The tennis court is “off limits”.
No throwing of anything, except in an approved game.
Skateboards and roller blades are not allowed during school hours.
Climbing on the stone wall is not allowed.
Only one student at a time will be allowed on the swings.  Students should remain seated at all times and swing straight.  There is no jumping  off, climbing or twisting of the swing.  Each student may swing for a period of 3 minutes.  Other students may wait away from the swing area.  The person waiting may be the timer.  
All equipment will be used in a proper and safe manner.
All students should wear proper clothing when playing in the snow (boots, gloves/mittens, snow pants, hat).
Only one (1) person allowed on a sled at a time, sitting only.
Physical contact is not permitted.
Students will respect the rights of other students and abide by playground rules.

Students will line up quickly and quietly when the teacher on duty announces line-up!
When the children remain inside because of foul weather, they are the responsibility of their classroom teacher.  If the on-duty teacher is outside, then all students are expected to be outside.  Students may remain in the building only if their classroom teacher has granted permission.  Such students will be the responsibility of the teacher granting this permission.
