Report cards are issued to students in Grades 1 through 6, four times a year. Mid-term warnings will be issued to students’ who are showing signs of possibly failing a subject. Kindergarten holds parent conferences for the first quarter. Report cards will be issued in Kindergarten second, third and fourth quarters.

STUDENT RECORDS
The FES maintains a cumulative file on your child. These records include report cards, standardized test results as well as other pertinent information. Parents are welcome to review any of the material found in this file. Please make arrangements with the office if you would like to view your child’s file.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Report cards are not sufficient for keeping the home and the school mutually informed about pupil progress. The parent, teacher or principal may request conferences in advance whenever the need arises. Parents are urged to schedule such conferences in advance with the person involved.

Formal conferences for students in grades K-6 are held in the Fall with all parents. Spring conferences for students in grades 1-6 are available upon request. Kindergarten conferences will be held in the spring. Please remember that conferences provide an opportunity to discuss all aspects of your child’s progress.

EDUCATION OF HANDICAPPED CHILDREN
It is the Freedom School District’s policy to provide free and appropriate educational services to all handicapped children. These will be provided in the least restrictive environment (and meet all State and Federal requirements).

The School Board has accepted a plan for educating handicapped children. Procedures for identifying children, evaluation and program planning, placement, due process guarantees, programs and resources are all compiled in the plan. A copy of the plan is available for your study at the principal’s office or at the SAU #13 office in Tamworth.
